That’s why we’ve established a scholarship fund dedicated to students pursuing degrees in Geology and Environmental Science. By supporting young scholars passionate about understanding and protecting the earth, we aim to foster innovation and sustainability in the fields that matter most. Our scholarship program is a step toward creating a brighter, more sustainable future—one where the balance between exploration and conservation thrives.

Fostering an interest in geology for students becomes an exciting adventure when they have the opportunity to mine Herkimer Diamonds with the crew. Through this hands-on experience, students can dive into the process of prospecting and uncover the natural beauty of these rare crystals. Working alongside experienced miners, they’ll learn the science behind mineral formation, rock types, and the delicate balance between exploration and conservation. This immersive experience not only deepens their knowledge of geology but also instills a sense of appreciation for the earth’s resources and the importance of sustainable mining practices. It’s an unforgettable way to make geology come alive!
Kiddo Rock Kit Give Away
Calling all young explorers! This is your chance to show off your love for rocks, minerals, and gems through art. Contest Details: Age Group: 3-12 Theme: "Rockhounding Adventures!" Let your imagination run wild and show us what rockhounding means to you! You can: Draw your favorite rock or mineral. Illustrate your rock-hunting adventures in nature. Depict a favorite place for rockhounding, such as a beach, mountain, or cave. Draw a crystal, gem, or fossil you've always wanted to find! How to Enter: Create a hand-drawn picture that reflects your passion for rockhounding. Use any materials you like: crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paints! Once your artwork is ready, take a clear photo or scan it. Submit the photo/scan online (or by mail) along with your name, age, and a short sentence about what your picture represents. Judging Criteria: Creativity: How fun, unique, and imaginative is your artwork? Relevance to the Theme: How well does the artwork show your love for rockhounding and nature? Effort and Detail: Did you put effort into making the drawing colorful, detailed, and full of imagination? Artwork will be featured on our website, social media and voted on by the public. Prizes: Grand Prize: The Rockhounder Starter kit complete with tools, Rockhounders Encyclopedia, a starter collection, Area 51 Merchandise and Gifts from the Crystal Collector! Contest Deadline: All artwork must be submitted by July 1st 205. .
